URA X TWGHs Young Leaders Programme 2022-23

Since 2017, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) has partnered with the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) in the Young Leaders Programme to nurture young talents with creativity and skills in problem-solving, communication, teamwork and project management. This year, students are encouraged to observe and understand the built environment of Kowloon City by using spatial data and Geographic Information System (GIS), and unleash their creativity to retain and strengthen the local characteristics under the URA’s integrated approach of urban renewal in the district.

After a series of training sessions and months of preparation, the participating students from 18 TWGHs secondary schools have submitted their proposals and the top eight proposals were being shortlisted.

The EIGHT shortlisted TWGHs secondary schools (listed in no particular order):
TWGHs Chen Zao Men College
TWGHs Kap Yan Directors' College
TWGHs Kwok Yat Wai College
TWGHs Li Ka Shing College
TWGHs Lo Kon Ting Memorial College
TWGHs Lui Yun Choy Memorial College
TWGHs Mrs Wu York Yu Memorial College

In July, students presented their ideas at the pop-up exhibition in 618 Shanghai Street to showcase their work to the public and conducted a formal presentation to Ir Wai Chi Sing, Managing Director of the URA and Mr Albert Su, the Chief Executive of TWGHs and Dr. Winnie Tang, the founder and chairman of Esri (China) Hong Kong in August.
