URA x TWGHs Young Leaders Programme 2020/2021

In collaboration with the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs), the URA has organized the Young Leaders Programme for the 4th year, with an aim to nurture students' leadership, creativity, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. This year, a total of 122 students from 9 TWGHs secondary schools have been recruited for the event. Students were given the theme of "Rejuvenating the Yau Mong District", to inspire students with innovative ideas about the sustainable development of Yau Tsim Mong District.

The participating TWGHs schools include:
• Chang Ming Thien College (張明添中學);
• Chen Zao Men College (陳兆民中學);
• Lee Ching Dea Memorial College (李潤田紀念中學);
• Lui Yun Choy Memorial College (呂潤財紀念中學);
• Mrs. Wu York Yu Memorial College (伍若瑜夫人紀念中學);
• S. C. Gaw Memorial College (吳祥川紀念中學);
• Wong Fut Nam College (黃笏南中學);
• Kwok Yat Wai College (郭一葦中學), and
• Yow Kam Yuen College (邱金元中學)

Virtual tours of the Urban Renewal Exploration Centre (UREC) as well as sharing by the Planning Department were arranged to equip students’ knowledge of urban renewal and concept of sustainable city.

In August, students presented their ideas at the pop-up exhibition in 618 Shanghai Street to showcase their work to the public and conducted a formal presentation to Ir Wai Chi Sing, Managing Director of the URA and Mr Albert Su, the Chief Executive of TWGHs.

The TWGHs Lui Yun Choy Memorial College was awarded the "Sustainable Development Award" by the judging panel and the "People's Choice Award" voted by the public.
