It’s summer time! Summer vacation is a good time to broaden children’s horizon and knowledge in urban renewal through funny games and exciting visits. Urban Renewal Exploration Centre (UREC) is now holding the “Explorations in Old Districts” Summer Programme from July to August, inviting P.4 to P.6 students to explore the inner cities in Hong Kong and discover their recent changes and improvement.
The Programme is offering 3 One-day docent tours in Wan Chai, Central & Western District and Kwun Tong. Not only do tours enrich children’s understanding of culture and living environment in old districts, but also delve into lately revitalized or redeveloped landmarks, such as Comix Home Base in Wan Chai, Pak Tse Lane Park in Western District and the Kwun Tong Promenade.
A Poster Design Competition cum Closing Party in August will mark the end of the programme. Children will enter a team-based poster design competition. Participants of the docent visits will also be rewarded with certificates acknowledging their excellent performance and active involvement. Parents are cordially welcomed to share the happiness and wonderful night with their children in the party with entertaining games and delicious refreshment.
