The Urban Renewal Exploration Centre (UREC) have resumed all visiting sessions.
Infection control measures will be implemented at the UREC to reduce the risk of infection and the spread of virus. Please click here for details.
Visitors can scan the QR code in the Centre or click this link to access the UREC audio guide. Simply press the corresponding number of each session to listen to the audio guide and understand more about the work of urban renewal.
This presents a real-life experience of dilapidated housing with small cubicles, caged homes and cockloft, which provides the visitors with better understanding of the poor living conditions in old districts. Some exhibits are collected from the authentic premises in the old districts.
Through the AR technology, the visitors are given a more intense visual impact of urban decay problem. With the AR effects mapping on the building models, the visitors can explore and identify various conditions of buildings in different age groups.
Through the Kinect Game, the visitors can go through various rehabilitation work such as fixing concrete spalling, rooftop, fire services installations and preventive maintenance.
