FAQ

The UREC aims to introduce to the public the urban decay problem in Hong Kong, as well as the mission and work of the URA. We hope to inspire visitors to approach urban renewal issues from various perspectives. The UREC gives a real-life experience of living conditions in dilapidated housing as well as presents the work of the URA in an interactive, informational and interesting way, with multi media facilities.

The UREC is located at H6 CONET, G/F, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong (Map). Visitors may take Exit D2 of Central Station, turn right to Theatre Lane and walk along Queen's Road Central for about 8 minutes;  or take Exit E2 of MTR Sheung Wan Station, and walk along Queen's Road Central for about 6 minutes.

Visiting the UREC is free of charge.

Booking applications should be made from 2 weeks to 2 months before the date of visit. The URA will confirm the booking 3 days prior to the visit day. Applicants may also contact us at 2588 2333 for booking enquiry.

Photo shooting and filming are not allowed without prior consent from the URA .
It takes about 1-2 hours to have a complete tour of the UREC. Guided tour will be provided by appointment.
Every group shall consist of no more than 25 visitors (including teachers and working staff). All age groups are welcome.
The design of the UREC has taken into account the need of wheelchair users. To facilitate necessary arrangement, please specify in the booking application if any special assistance is required.
Applicants are advised to make such requests when applying for a visit. Each request will be considered on case-by-case basis, and whether a request can be entertained depends on the actual circumstances.
